If a competing product genuinely performs better for a particular application, Millennium will say so. That transparency has created an unusual level of loyalty. Valdez says customers have sometimes resisted efforts by manufacturers to work with them directly.

“They’ll say, ‘No, no, no. You leave us with Millennium. We’re good.’”

Millennium now serves customers throughout the southeastern United States, the Caribbean and Latin America.

Valdez credits much of that growth to one thing:

“Hiring the right people.”

Then comes understanding a customer deeply enough to ask the questions that matter.

“What drives their revenue and their profitability? What stops you from growing?

Where are your problems?” What Comes Next

Scanning, digital twins, automation and AI are already changing how equipment is monitored, dangerous conditions are identified and operational decisions are made. Valdez believes companies that disconnect from those changes—or from the customers experiencing them—will struggle to keep pace. “If you are not completely engaged with the technology that’s being developed,” he says, “and if you’re not engaged with customers and what they see in the market moving forward,” falling behind becomes almost inevitable. 37
