OSTEOPATHY

Course Title

Level Course Duration

Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions. It is based on the principle that the well-being of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues functioning smoothly together. In the UK Osteopathy is an allied healthcare profession regulated by the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC). Once you have qualified with our B.Ost or M.Ost degrees you are able to apply for registration with the GOsC and then practice as an osteopath. You can then work as an osteopath in a clinic, the NHS or set up your own practice (we also teach you the practicalities of running your own business). Osteopaths work all over the world including Europe, New Zealand and Australia. Our students rate us particularly highly for our experienced teaching staff, small class sizes, excellent pastoral care and modern clinic facilities. Our onsite teaching clinic has more than 3000 patient appointments per year and it is staffed by highly-qualified tutors who supervise the students in assessing and treating patients. In our clinic our students encounter patients of all ages and lifestyles as well as getting the opportunity to work in specialist areas such as paediatrics and sports injuries. Our Osteopathy students are a mix of younger and mature students, with many of the latter having come to Osteopathy as a career change later in life. We also offer access courses for potential applicants who have a real interest but lack the required academic qualifications.
