Professional Diploma in Performance
Our enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff are experienced and established practitioners, directors, technicians and industry professionals. This means we can bring a real and relevant experience to you and your training. We work with industry specialists on the program including directors from a variety of theatres such as the National Theatre, Action to the Word, The Etcetera Theatre and The CLF Art Café. We also have a specialist Acting for Screen lecturer who is working in industry and has just been in a Hollywood film. During careers week we bring in organisations such as Equity, the Arts Council and various practitioners including, agents, professional actors and casting directors. We also have a tax returns workshop and bring in former students to talk about life after Nescot. The department has excellent facilities including two full-scale theatres (including a 215 seat proscenium arch), two high-spec acting studios and a fully-equipped dance studio, as well as good-quality teaching rooms with interactive white boards and an Apple Mac suite. We also have an extensive scenic workshop for set building and fully-stocked costume and props stores.
UAL Level 4 Professional Diploma in Performance The course provides students with an opportunity to stretch and refine their practical skills levels whilst defining their own personal interests and area of expertise. Classes include stage acting, acting for screen, singing and voice, movement and musical theatre technique. You will get regular opportunities to rehearse and perform to an audience at a professional theatre venue. Regular classes in audition technique and repertoire will ensure you are fully prepared for future auditions, casting calls and the demands of the industry.
