This provides you with both an income and real-life experience in your chosen profession. Apprenticeships are designed with
employer and industry needs in mind hence they are very relevant to the job you’ll be doing. An apprenticeship also gives you a head start in employment as government figures say that 90% of apprentices in England stay on in employment, 71% of them with the same employer. Our dedicated Business Centre team can help you whether you have an employer or not. We maintain strong links with industry and can help you seek a suitable employer. Our current vacancies can be seen at www.nescot.ac.uk/ apprenticeshipvacancies . If you already have an employer please contact us at the Business Centre and we will help you progress your application. You can contact the Business Centre on 0208 394 8593 or email businesscentre@nescot.ac.uk .
Higher Apprenticeships provide a different route to gain Level 4 qualifications or above, with most apprentices gaining an NVQ Level 4, HND, or a foundation degree. Training fees are paid by the government and the employer, so there is no requirement for a student loan for fees. A Higher Apprenticeship can take from one to five years to complete, and it involves part-time study at an institution like Nescot. The main appeal of an apprenticeship is that you are working whilst you are studying.
