4. SAPBWN Strategy, Theme, and Priorities

Networking – Networking is a primary reason our members join; that’s why expanding our internal and external networks across our BWN chapters is always a focal point of our activities. We focus on strengthening relationships with other SAP ENGs and the SAP D&I office, including partnerships with SAP Pride, Black Employee Network, and Women in Tech. We also partner with external SAP customers and share best practices and strategic direction. Leadership Development – Our network prioritizes career development, mentorship, and sponsorship for women and BWN members. Our annual survey showed 40% of members have a mentor or are mentors, but only 20% have a sponsor. That’s why we aim to increase sponsorship numbers. Celebrate Successes – We strive to increase visibility for our network, and the exceptional work of our volunteers and chapter leads among senior management. This includes highlighting role models and success stories within BWN andSAP. Walk the Talk/Take Action – SAP has committed to the D&I strategy with a focus on workforce diversity, workplace inclusion, and marketplace leadership. Now, it’s time to walk the talk, take action, be accountable, and hold each other accountable for executing the strategy. Our focus is to build a culture of allyship, particularly towards women and less- represented minorities, across all levels.

We want to be intentional with our actions. That’s why our theme, “Drive Impact with Intention,” aims to have a meaningful impact on our employees and SAP, while also measuring the results of our efforts.

Our strategy encompasses four priorities:

Networking

Leadership Development

Celebrate Successes

Walk the Talk/Take Action
