Feature of Reamers Helix
Designed with straight cutting flutes. Straight cutting flute regrinding is generally easier and more economi- cal than helix flute. It is commonly used and suitable for processing both through holes and blind holes. Designed with left helix and right cutting flutes. The finishing effect of spiral reamers is greater than that of straight reamers, which can improve surface roughness. However, they have poorer cutting force and require a smaller allowance for hole diameter. The chip removal direction is forward, which minimizes impact on already reamed hole walls. They are not suitable for processing blind holes. Designed with right helix and right cutting flutes. The finishing effect of right -hand spiral reamers is slightly inferior to that of left -hand spiral reamers. However, they provide better cutting force and allow for a larger hole diameter allowance. The chip removal direction is backward, which can affect the walls of already reamed holes. They are suitable for processing both through holes and blind holes.

Reamers Tolerance
For hole diameter tolerance requirements, the preferred options are generally tolerance classes H7 and H8. Reamers are produced according to the tolerance range of DIN 1420 H7 (Please refer Table 1), so the reamed holes should fall within the corresponding tolerance range for normal use of the reamer. However, it is important to consider that the size of the reamed hole depends on the reamer diameter tolerance as well as other factors, such as the angles on the cutting edges, chamfering of the reamer, workpiece clamping, reamer installation offset, machine condition, lubrication, and the characteristics of the material being processed.
