Key Objectives • Use addition and subtraction to solve inequalities. • Write and graph inequalities. A one-step inequality is an inequality where one operation (addition, subtraction,
multiplication, or division) is applied to the variable. Solving a one-step inequality is much like solving a one-step equation. To solve an inequality, isolate the variable using inverse operations. For example, if a number is added to the variable, then solve the inequality by subtracting that number from both sides of the inequality.
