Example 4 Finding Slope from an Equation

The slope of a line can be found from the equation of the line. One method for finding the slope of a line from its equation is to find two solutions (ordered pairs) of that equation, and then substitute the coordinates from the two ordered pairs into the slope formula. It is often easiest to use the ordered pairs that contain the x - and y -intercepts.
