Moreover, we should pray for governmental powers and policies. Prayer will change things. I remember that once when I was in Toronto, Canada, attending a meeting at The China Inland Mission, we were called together one morning to pray. The head of the mission told us that the British gov.. ernment was going to vote that day, deciding whether or not it should permit the selling of opium in China. This business would have netted the country millions of dollars a year. But we prayed, and even that day we received a cablegram saying that the government had voted not to sell this thing that is a curse to any people. "Prayer changes things!" Yes, my friend; "the powers that be are ordained of God."
