From newsrooms to ‘I Do’s’ Photography has been part of Ellie’s world for as long as she can remember. After studying documentary photography and photojournalism at university, she began her career at a regional newspaper in East London. “I got to photograph incredible people and events, including the Queen and David Attenborough,” Ellie recalls. “It was a dream job, but after being made redundant, I decided to build something of my own.” That leap of faith led her to discover her true calling - wedding photography. “Family and being a mum mean everything to me, so capturing the coming together of families, filled with joy and laughter, is such a privilege,” she says. “It’s why I absolutely love what I do.” Natural, heartfelt and effortless Ellie’s style is all about natural, heartfelt storytelling for couples who want to enjoy their day without stress. “I get to know you, not just your wedding plans, so you feel relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera,” she explains. She avoids stiff, overly posed shots, preferring to capture authentic connection. “I’ll take you for a walk, give you time to soak in the fact that you’re married, and gently prompt you if needed. It’s about creating images that feel effortless so your personalities shine through.” The beauty in the details With a background in both documentary and press photography,
Ellie brings a unique eye for storytelling. “I love the big moments, but it’s the little ones that matter most - your dad’s proud smile, your mum’s tears, your friends on the dance floor,” she says. “Those tiny details - the borrowed jewellery, a memorial for someone special, or kids sneaking sweets into their pockets - are what make your day uniquely yours.” Ellie also understands what it feels like to be camera-shy, which shapes her warm, reassuring approach. “Over the years, I’ve learned the little tricks that bring out your authentic self. No stiff posing, no over-editing, just beautiful, honest moments. My couples trust me to tell their story, and that’s the greatest honour. I let you do you, and in return, I ask that you let me do me. It’s the perfect combination.” Love, laughter and lasting memories Ellie’s creative artistry lies in how she sees and frames a moment. “My couples are always my first thought,” she says. “I focus on storytelling and capturing the day as it unfolds - moments that are both beautiful and emotionally meaningful.” From intimate glances to joyful celebrations, Ellie uses light, composition and instinct to transform fleeting moments into timeless memories. “When everything comes together naturally, the love, the laughter and the atmosphere - that’s where the magic really happens.”
