Three key appointments made to turn Cyber Central into reality

Key appointments have been made that will take the first steps in making the vision for Cheltenham’s Cyber Central development a reality. Cheltenham and Tewkesbury Borough councils have appointed commercial real estate specialists Avison Young to lead the team producing a masterplan for the site. Avision Young will lead a team that includes Allies and Morrison Architects and Hydock in producing a strategic masterplan and a Supplementary Planning Document for the development.

The masterplan vision is to create a vibrant pioneering community, which will include a UK home for the cyber security industry, on land purchased by Cheltenham Borough Council last year Cyber Central will act as a catalyst for development to the west of Cheltenham and provide thousands of new homes, as well as facilities for the local population. Gloucestershire is already home to the UK’s most vibrant cyber security community: it is home to GCHQ, as well as a growing network of cyber technology businesses. Gloucestershire County Council and GFirst LEP will work in partnership on the development, to ensure collaboration with industry, academia, government and the local community. When finished, the 132 hectare site will be a world-class and world-leading development that will put Cheltenham at the forefront of an ever- expanding global industry.
