QUALITY OF IMPROVEMENT
In 2025, the Professional Development Center (PDC) demonstrated significant improvements in the quality, relevance, and impact of its professional development initiatives. A major area of advancement this year was the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) across multiple programs, workshops, and training pathways — positioning the university at the forefront of digital transformation in higher education. The number of activities increased to 123, reflecting broader access to professional learning and enhanced organizational capacity. Faculty Forums exceeded the institutional KPI, indicating higher levels of academic engagement, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the sharing of innovative teaching practices. A key quality improvement was the expansion of AI-focused professional development , including sessions on generative AI tools, AI-driven research methodologies, ethical considerations in AI usage, data science fundamentals, and AI applications in teaching and learning. These sessions equipped partici pants with essential digital competencies and supported the university’s transition toward AI-informed educational practices. Faculty reported improved confidence in using AI for curriculum design, assessment strategies, content creation, and research enhancement. Webinars delivered through global publishing partners also heavily emphasized emerging AI technology, including sessions on AI in research evaluation, academic integrity, digital scholarship, and AI’s role in future learning environments. The incr ease to 64 webinars — up from 40 the previous year — broadened faculty exposure to international best practices in AI adoption and digital literacy. New initiatives such as the Technology Integration Training Program , Data Science and Visualization Training Program, and the AI Art Competition further strengthened the institution’s commitment to cultivating future-ready skills. These programs enriched faculty and student understanding of advanced technologies and promoted creativity, innovation, and responsible AI use. Student development activities also reflected improvements in the integration of technology and AI-supported learning tools, with enhanced student participation and positive feedback on the relevance of these workshops to their academic progress and career readiness. Overall, the improvements made in 2025 highlight the PDC’s strategic shift toward AI-driven, technology-enhanced professional development , increased participant engagement, and stronger alignment with global educational trends. These advancements significantly elevated the quality and impact of the PDC’s contributions to teaching excellence, research development, and institutional innovation.
