OUTDOOR RESORT PALM SPRINGS Membership Survey Comments on Any Aspect of Outdoor Resort Page 16
122. We have a modern Class A motor coach. We are not opposed to 5th wheels, but many in the resort look terrible with the attached "dog houses." The old white fiberglass 5th wheels with decals are old, old, old and bring down the appearance of our Resort. We know some people are on a tight budget and don't want to upgrade. Well, maybe this isn't the Resort for them anymore. There are other resorts they could go to that would be a better fit. It would be great if management could start to make changes to bring rigs up to a more aesthetic appearance. Such as requiring that when a lot is put up for sale that has a 5th wheel on it, that that 5th wheel cannot be sold with the lot unless it is a "full-body paint" 5th wheel. This way we can start to upgrade our Resort to a more consistent appearance with rigs. It is just as important to have the rigs meet a more modern standard as it is to upgrade and remodel our buildings to a more modern standard. This is an issue we feel very strongly about. It's 2020....all rigs should be full body paint by now. It would be a consistency in appearance and accent the beautiful resort that we are. 123. In general, we have an amazing resort, our challenge is to continue planning for what the next generation will find appealing and enticing. It is not always easy or pleasant to work with the staff or committees. 124. The inappropriate and unjustified increase in daily resort fees for renters has decreased the numbers of renters and the amount of rent we are able to collect. Many of us have had to decrease the amount of rent we charge to compensate for the frequent rise in daily rental fees. I believe in 5 years the daily resort fee has raised from $2 to $15 causing us to lose many of our repeat renters. ORPS will never be a 5 star resort until resort wide WIFI is available. WIFI was previously deemed too expensive due to lack of the infrastructure required. ORPS should continue to aggressively pursue resort wide WIFI services. For example, research the opportunity to piggyback on the cabling work done for the WIFI infrastructure needed for the cannabis facility next door. Lastly, maintenance is often a problem. For example: It took over a week to repair heating problems in Satellite A pool and hot tub. A dryer has been waiting 3 months for repair. It’s just a dryer. If it’s too old to fix, replace it. 125. Looks like the board has got a lot of grandiose ideas. Change is great if needed and cost is a consideration. I’m not sure if we need any of these changes but majority rules. Thanks for the opportunity to express my opinion. 126. Street signs are in poor shape. It is very important to insist 5th wheels and motor homes are kept up. Do not approve of dogs using the grass at the front of resort or the temporary green area by the pickle courts. A proper dog facility should be provided that does not compromise the ambiance of the park. Why was the promised dog run as part of the marijuana building not properly managed? Golf course is very well maintained, but the common areas and individual green space on individual lots are poorly maintained by Vintage. Staff are not committed to doing a good job and are not given the time to do it well or with pride. So sad. 127. Live on one lot and rent out two other lots 128. Should have wifi sent to all lots with existing tv wires as all of us have our wifi brought in that way. Also cats eye center road markers 129. Biggest complaint: koi washing machines and dryers out of service was out of control this year. Very unacceptable.
