OUTDOOR RESORT PALM SPRINGS Membership Survey Comments on Any Aspect of Outdoor Resort Page 44
353. I would like to express concern about renters in the park. From the behaviours I have seen it leads me to believe that they are not well informed when entering the park. My desire would be that they are made aware that people live in the resort and as such treat their lots as their homes, not like a campground. I see people letting their dogs void anywhere, bark excessively, let the dogs play on the golf course. Renters often will have parties with lots of outside visitors. Helping themselves to fruit off neighbor’s fruit trees and generally not as considerate or mindful of owners as I would like to see or expect. As well rental lots tend to be less maintained or improved. We report our concerns frequently when witnessing these behaviours but the consensus is renters are not invested financially or emotionally in the resort. I would be interested in knowing the benefits ($) to ORPS to allow renters in. As an owner I don’t see any. With regards to sports - I recognize that each of our sports should have a pro to promote it but having a pro’s assistant seems excessive. Is this not something we should vote on? Pickle ball appears to be the Fastest growing sport fastest growing sport in the resort. Lots of laughter and camaraderie. Why do we not have a pickle ball pro to head the program? The program seems to be run by people that are not qualified or able to teach pickle ball at a high-level It tends to have an “old boys club” feel to it. We would love to be able to take part and develop our skills in a professional way. Playing pickle ball with Optimum pickle balls and extending the hours of use of real pickleball so that the wait times for courts can be lessened would be much appreciated. Thanks for allowing us to vent and for listening 354. I feel that the satellite pools, restrooms and laundry should be kept open year-round. We as owners pay a monthly HOA, which includes the cost of maintaining these. It isn't fair they are close, especially when they must be kept maintained year-round. If they are going to be closed, then during the off-season we should pay a reduced HOA fee. I feel that the staff, maintenance workers should be able to use the restrooms around the park. They work hard at maintaining the resort, and should not be singled out to not be able to use the ones we currently have. The A&E Committee should be active and available to review and approve permits- year-round. 355. We really need to address the dog issue! An isolated relief area, NOT surrounding Tennis and Pickleball courts! I believe buying up lots along Ramon Rd is one way to gain more space. Redesign of LP Clubhouse, Restaurant and Convenience Store to create more useable space. A multi-year project, with a long-term gain. 356. We need finite rules for skateboarding and roller blading. After seeing the young girls this last week at the pool, with string bikinis, is there any way we can add an appropriate dress code? Tough, I know, but it was embarrassing. Just a thought! 357. Your activities tend to cater to older retirees. Example: this survey listed music genres as: dance, easy listening, country and jazz. Why not rock, alternative, pop, rap/hip hop, etc.? You need to prepare for the millennial retirees. This survey is entirely too long!
