Teaching and Learning This challenging course will test your brains and your brawn! Your lesson activities will include research and written tasks, individual presentations and collaborative tasks designed to enhance your study and employability skills. You will also have the opportunity to develop your theoretical navigation skills before putting them into practice. We would also recommend you join the college’s Combined Cadet Force as part of the enrichment programme. Assessment 100% Coursework Entry Requirements Five GCSEs at grade 9-4. Alternatively, if you have studied at Level 2, you should have achieved a Merit grade or above. Vocational courses are ideal if you prefer coursework over exams.
Overview Preparing you for a variety of roles in the Public Service Sector, including Armed Forces, Blue Light Emergency Services, Central and Local Government. This exciting course includes practical work and regular fitness training. You’ll develop collaborative skills, leadership abilities and participate in navigation activities leading to an expedition. You will enhance your digital skills and complete assignments in multiple formats. Many students progress onto University studying subjects such as Outdoor Adventure, Politics and Law. Students have also progressed onto the prestigious Sandhurst Military Academy. Structure Based over two years you will study six units where you will learn how to: – Prepare for a career in the uniformed services and develop aspects of your physical fitness along the way – Enhance your leadership skills by putting theory into action as well as learning about Britain’s rich and diverse cultural make-up – Navigate in open countryside in preparation to participate in a challenging expedition
