At HSDC we recognise that all students are individuals and that high achieving students often need some specialist support to help them meet their full potential. As such, we offer a special Be Aspirational Programme which our gifted and talented students can attend alongside their study programme. The programme is designed to ensure our students maximise their potential and go on to study at Russell Group or Oxbridge universities or embark on one of the highly competitive Degree Apprenticeships that are available. As well as working with you in curriculum areas to help you achieve top grades, we will also encourage you to extend your studies through the Extended Project Qualification and enrichment activities. Whatever your plans are, we are committed to helping you meet your potential and achieve your goals. BE ASPIRATIONAL Be Aspirational Briefings and University Speakers This prepares you for the challenges of the university admission process, helping you deliver an enhanced application to ensure you have a competitive advantage. This also includes help with admissions tests, Q&A sessions with current Oxbridge and Russell Group students who BE ASPIRATIONAL

studied at HSDC Alton, and talks and workshops delivered by guest speakers from Oxbridge and Russell Group universities. HEPlus HEPlus is a programme of extension lectures run in conjunction with Trinity College, University of Cambridge. Students can apply to attend tours and residential visits at Cambridge University. Curriculum Support Your teachers will work with you to stretch and challenge you in your studies and encourage you to aspire to exceed your target grades. You will undertake extension tasks, wider reading and enter competitions such as the Newnham Essay Prize, University of Cambridge. Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) The EPQ is a research project on a topic of your choice guided by a dedicated supervisor. Final submission could be in the form of a report, music or even a film. Many universities and employers highly value the EPQ. Super-Curricular Students are encouraged to take part in activities across subject areas. These include national competitions such as the law-focused Bar Mock Trial, UK Olympiads in Mathematics or the Sciences and MedSoc which helps candidates apply successfully to study medicine at university.
