Teaching & Learning Lessons involve working through topic workbooks, whole class and small group

discussion and informal assessment, aided by the use of mini-whiteboards and Kahoot quizzes. Students carry out mini research projects into the topic areas studied. We organise trips and speakers, including a day at Marwell Zoo learning about methods of observing behaviour. Assessment 100% exams (three exam papers). The exams contain a mixture of multiple choice, short answers and extended writing. 10% of assessment contains mathematical skills equivalent to Level 2 or above. Entry Requirements Five GCSEs at grade 9-4, including English and Mathematics at grade 5 or above and a Science at grade 6 or above is recommended.

Overview Psychology is a science, giving an insight into human behaviour and leading to a wide range of careers in psychology and beyond. It addresses questions about a wide range of topics including whether eyewitness testimony is accurate, why relationships can break down and what the causes of mental illness are. You will learn through independent research, presentations, discussion and debate, and will also develop high-level transferable skills including analytical skills and research design. Psychology is the study of human behaviour and how our biology, mental processes, experiences of the world around us and the actions of others work together to influence our behaviour and who we become.
