STRENGTHENING ITS POSITION IN NORTHERN IRELAND’S RENEWABLE ENERGY MARKET, SOLV IS ONE OF ONLY THREE COMPANIES TO HAVE ACHIEVED CERTIFICATION THROUGH OFTEC IN THE REGION… solv Achieves MCS certification
solv Group has announced its successful certification under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS), representing a key milestone in its expansion within the renewable energy sector. Following a successful final review, solv has also been accepted onto the OFTEC renewable registration scheme, securing eligibility for both MCS certification and the Competent Person Scheme. This positions solv among a small group of industry leaders; at time of writing, it is one of only three companies in Northern Ireland that have achieved this through OFTEC. The certification unlocks significant benefits for both solv and its customers: • Self-certification capability: Allowing solv to self-certify renewable installations in compliance with building regulations across Northern Ireland. • Enhanced industry credibility: Official recognition as a trusted, quality-driven contractor within the renewables market. • Stronger customer pathways: solv now features in the MCS Find a Contractor tool, increasing visibility and accessibility for customers. • Guaranteed compliance: Every qualifying renewable installation will now include an MCS certificate, ensuring verified quality and adherence to industry standards.

(microgeneration certification scheme) was developed to ensure technicians installing renewable technologies are suitably qualified and certified to carry out installations in a professional and safe manner. The scheme also ensures that the products themselves are developed to a high industry standard. Certification of both the product and installer will be required to claim payments through any future grant scheme which we are expecting to be announced by the NI Government shortly.”
