Cyclists set off from Bassetts Newry and finished at Bassetts Portadown.

A group of cycling enthusiasts from Bassetts has completed Pedal for Purpose, an ambitious 500km, three-day charity cycle connecting nine of the company’s branches across Northern Ireland and raising funds for three life-changing local charities. The event, which took place over August 20-22, saw cyclists set off from Newry and make their way across the region before crossing the finish line at Bassetts Portadown. Led by Operations Manager Colin Warnock, the team was joined along the route by colleagues, supporters and customers, all united by one goal to raise funds and awareness for NI Children’s Hospice (Bassetts’ Charity of the Year), Macmillan Cancer Support (Mandeville Unit) and NI Chest, Heart & Stroke. Throughout the three days, Bassetts branches hosted a variety of community fundraising activities, including breakfast mornings, raffles, spin-a-thons and barbecues, which further boosted donations and brought local communities together in support of the cause. Colin Warnock, Operations Manager at Bassetts, said, “We are incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved with Pedal for Purpose. Covering 500km over three days was no small challenge, but the determination of our cyclists and the support from our staff, customers and local communities made it possible. Most importantly, we’ve raised vital funds for three charities that provide life-changing care and support across Northern Ireland.” Pedal for Purpose highlights the company’s commitment to its staff and customers as well as the wider community. www.bassettsonline.com BASSETTS COMPLETES 500KM PEDAL FOR PURPOSE FUNDRAISING CYCLE
