Giving Beyond our Gate
By: Kathy Wheeler
January 2023
We have continued our collection of hygiene items, instant/easy meals and snacks for our teens in need program . I along with Jacque Donofrio and Sindie Harman had the opportunity to take our collected items down to Elizabeth at Mohave High School. We met with Elizabeth Lara for quite some time as she shared some very sincere feelings of her purpose there and explaining more about the program. She assists approximately 50 teens from 3 High Schools with almost any need they may have for daily living. She runs a great and very organized program as the family liaison. These teens have come to trust her and show gratefulness for all she does for them. It was a good experience to be able to see her in the environment of giving and kindness she has developed in our community for these youth. We all came away feeling humbled and dedicated to assisting Elizabeth, personally and through our community here at Vista Del Sol in the future.
The collection bins will be in the office here at Vista through the end January for more collection of goods.
Photos are from the visit to Elizabeth’s office. Items used to assist the local students.
February 2023
Looking ahead into February, we are holding a fundraising event here at Vista Del Sol for the Mohave County Sheriff's K-9 Foundation. It will be in conjunction with a Car Show for your enjoyment. This event will be held on Sunday February 26th. There are flyers with more information concerning this event in the mailroom, clubhouse and office.
As always, thank you all for your contributions and kind hearts of giving.
