A Message from the Metro New Jersey Chapter 2015 President, Robert J. Bovasso, Jr., MAI The Metro New Jersey Chapter congratulates two recently designated members: Joseph E. Traks, MAI and John P. Wilson, MAI. There are several opportunities to fulfill Qualifying Education for licensing, Advanced Education for the AI designations and Continuing Education for recertification. The courses available through the end of this year can be reviewed by logging on to www.appraisalinstitute.org; go to the education tab and search courses by the Metro NJ chapter. The Chapter’s web site www.ai-newjersey.org will provide upcoming meeting information and our Fall Conference Brochure. The fall schedule is packed with relevant and hot topics. September 24 th there will be a tour of the Meadowlands “American Dream” project followed by a lunch presentation. October 1 st the chapter will have a joint meeting with the New Jersey Green Building Council at Dolce Hotel in Basking Ridge: The dinner meeting is a great opportunity to network with members of the Green Building Council and hear from leading professionals on LEED projects in New Jersey. The 13 th Annual Fall Conference is scheduled for October 23 rd at the Hotel Woodbridge at Metro Park: In addition to submitting for appraisal credits and realtor credits, the chapter has also submitted for CM credits for planners. The Fall Conference topics will include Market Analysis of Residential and Commercial Markets, Economic Conditions, Affordable Housing, and the Transit Village program. In addition to the chapter events coming in October there are several excellent seminars and courses planned for September – December. This is a recertification year so don’t miss out on getting your CE credits and attending one or several of a great selection of events. September through December is the last lap of my term as chapter President. I could not have continued the reputation and maintained the strength of the Metro NJ Chapter, offering great programs and member support, without the contributions of the chapter’s Board of Directors, Committee Chairs and members. Thank you to all for another great year! The volunteers of the chapter give their time and expertise throughout the year that benefits not only our members, but all appraisers in the state.
