Wildfire Cleanup Efforts Begin Ash and Debris Removal in January Jackson County | January 6, 2021 A nticipating a mid-January start date, Oregon Wildfire Recovery cleanup crews are continuing their preparations of staging equipment, completing environmental testing and coordinating with property owners to begin Step 2 of the Almeda Fire ash and debris removal. (mixture of single family, multi-family and apartments) Coleman Creek Mobile Home Park, Phoenix, 135 N. Phoenix Rd. (mobile home park). Samuel Loop Subdivision, Phoenix, Samuel Lane Loop Rd. (single family) As FEMA continues to refine their plans and complete agreements with selected mobile home park owners, these priorities will likely change to cleanup those mobile home parks where FEMA will place trailers for longer-term housing. Cleanup In Step 2, ash and structural debris will be removed from private home and business properties, including concrete foundations and other household and construction materials. A list of what is included in cleanup is available. Once completed, the property will be ready for rebuilding. The property owner will receive a letter from the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality stating that the property cleanup is completed. Priorities The removal of ash and debris is being planned and coordinated to be completed with efficiency and safety as priorities. This includes mobilizing crews to complete cleanup in communities in a combined effort prior to moving to other areas to begin work. The Jackson County Debris Removal Taskforce, comprised of Phoenix, Talent, Jackson County and others has determined the priority areas for the cleanup schedule. These are: TIER 1 Bear Lake Estates, 300 Luman Rd., Phoenix (200+ site mobile home park) Mountain View Estates, 333 Mountain View, Talent, (164 site mobile home park)
