Have You Read the Bible?
Editor, Wisconsin Christian News: March 2025 “Have you read the Bible?” I have asked many people that question, usually prompted by some comment they made about it. Mostly their replies just make me sad. The major- ity are either secular agnostics, that weren’t exposed to the Scriptures early on, or apostates that perhaps were dragged to church by their par- ents, wandering away as I once did. Most have done little Bible reading and much of their Bible knowledge is secondhand from poor sources. Then there are the atheists. I haven’t met one yet that didn’t proudly claim they had read it all at least once. As they did so with closed hearts and minds, they may as well have paged through an empty notebook. They’ll mention all the “contradictions,” but when asked, “Tell me about one,” they never get around to it. As I said, sad. However, what makes me angry is encountering Bib- lical ignorance among believers, even at the highest levels of clergy and ac- ademics. A few of many verses come to mind. That seems to be the root of
the problem. They cite one or two and then prattle on about their interpreta- tion. Yet, no Bible verses stand alone, they all need to be considered in the greater context. In that regard, I tried a little test. I wondered, if I took just one hour, how much of the Bible could I read from and learn? This was just casual read- ing, not bogging myself down by con- sulting other resources as Hebrew dictionaries or commentaries. In that time, I read from Genesis 11:27 through Genesis 26:25. I began with that particular section because it be- gins the story of Abraham, “Now these are the generations of Terah: Terah begat Abram, ...”. Later, GOD renames him, “Abraham.” (Genesis 17:5). One verse of those few is Gen- esis 22:2, “And HE said, ‘Take now your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mounts, which I will tell you of.’” This whole story is referred to as the, “Akeda” by Jews. By their tradi- tion, it took place on mount Moriah where Solomon’s temple would later
be built, but read it carefully. Does GOD actually say, “Go to mount Mo- riah?” No! Abraham is sent to the “land” of Moriah and a then undis- closed mount. From my Christian per- spective, this is not a squabbling upon words or grammar. The reason it was not a simple straightforward di- rection is on purpose — GOD would spare Abraham’s beloved son Isaac, but HIS beloved SON would not be spared upon this very same mount. Another verse that is often cited, es- pecially with current events is Gene- sis 12:3, “And I will bless them that bless you, and curse him that curses you...”. Often omitted is the last part, “... and in you shall all families of the earth be blessed” — almost always it is applied to the Jews as GOD’s cho- sen people. Before you slander me as an “anti- semite,” hear me out. I’m definitely not a terrorist flag waver, spouting genocidal drivel such as, “from the river to the sea.” I doubt most even know what river or sea they are refer- ring to. I also think the modern nation of Israel has every right to exist where it is as it is. I just don’t believe
that the cited verse has much to do with that. Why? Well if you will actu- ally take the time (about one hour) to read that portion of Genesis carefully, you should figure that out. If you go on just a few more verses, you may learn that Abraham is in many other verses made similar promises by GOD, Genesis 12:7, 13:14 & 17, 15:5, 13 & 18, 17:6-8. In 17:18-21, before his son Isaac was even born, GOD promises him, HE will also bless Ishmael, his son by Sarah’s servant, Hagar. I could go on, but the point hopefully is made, Read the Bible! Carefully!, not just a verse here and there. Now, regarding those slogan spout- ing, terrorist supporters, read the promise in Genesis 15:18 carefully, where Abraham is told, “... from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates.” Unfortunately, I have read or heard many a Bible ex- pert claim this was never fulfilled; be-
cause even at the height of David and Solomon’s kingdoms, the Jews never possessed all those lands. Over- looked is the phrase, “many nations” in many of these promises. Besides Ishmael, were not the Edomites descended from Abraham’s grandson Esau? The Midianites from a son by another wife, Ketura. Moses even marries a Midianite woman, not an Israelite. If somehow I have mis- represented the Scriptures, I will gladly acknowledge my error. It only took an hour, I wasn’t trying to speed read. In about that same time, I could probably cover the stories of Isaac and Jacob. Overall it is sad, that so many will put that time in to read the latest book by some religious scholar. But not the Word of God itself! Please, Read the Bible! Carefully. Amen.

Thinking Again
Editor, Wisconsin Christian News: March 2025
so much He gave us His only begotten Son, Jesus. That whosoever believes in Him and is baptized, shall be saved. There now you have the Gospel He gave us. Just ten little rules. Too, too, easy. Now I’ll be ninety three years old by the time you read this. I was over sixty years old before I learned to try this “thinking” deal ane suffered many things in this life I should not have had to, forced schooling, naivety. Believing the junk I was taught in school. Remembering, no thinking. We have a quite wonderful Constitution. It was not taught in school. So many of us service men, politicians, govern- ment workers... have all taken an oath to defend it and obey it. Trouble is, and was, we have never even read it. We are living under an unconstitutional government. Find a copy and read it. There was no income tax before 1900. There should not be one now. There is no provision for a private banking system, and more fooling involved here — our “federal re- serve” is not “Federal.” Congress is supposed to control the money. Lies, lies, lies. What is behind it? Money and an entity called satan. The Bible tells us, the love of money is the root of all evil. Goes hand in hand — satan and money. The controllers use it to keep us common folk en- slaved by regulating its value. I took my son out for a hamburger the other night and the bill was around $27.00 with a tip. I am so old that I re- member when what we had would have been less than $1.00, at the A & W Root Beer stand...every town had one. The government can be blamed for allowing the federal reserve to control the money, when the Constitution says Congress is supposed to. The function of a free people’s government is only three fold. Protection, justice, and con- trol the money. They don’t have the God given right to con- trol you or your thinking. Protection covers a large area. Congress is supposed to control the money, if they did we should not be in debt. If we would nationalize the federal reserve we could eliminate our horrendous debt or another way would be to have a “year of Jubilee,” which the Bible tells us about where all, all debts are forgiven and you start afresh. Here’s the big problem. The controllers won’t allow you, us, to do either one. Try it and you will find out we re- ally are being controlled. I wish all who are reading this to pray for wisdom and if God grants it, here is what would happen. You will be steered to some different material than you are used to. One of the first pieces for me was this newspaper, Wis- consin Christian News . Another was “Dark Majesty” by Tex Marrs, “The Controllers” by Ed Whitney. It will be a different world if we allow God’s wisdom to rule us rather than man’s remembering. Think, Think, Think. Try it. Prac- tice it. -Richard Bollom, Trego, Wis.
We have all been brought up on “remembering.” Never an encouragement to think. Now if I may encourage you to think, you have to do the best on your own. I don’t know of any books on the subject, but after trying it awhile, you will begin to see that if only remembering is taught, then a whole nation can be controlled. That’s exactly what they have done to us. We have a people much more interested in how some football or sports team is doing than what our government is doing, much more interested in foolishness than what is effecting our well being. It didn’t just happen. Here is how a great deal of it started. In 1905, five men from the education field sat down in a loft of Peck’s Restau- rant in Manhattan and plotted to socialize this nation. I only know the name of one of them. Jack London. They were entirely unconstitutional. They were going to do it with a method called “gradualism,” which if done right, never fails because there is no resistance. It took one hundred years in this case but succeeded. If you don’t think so, it is be- cause you have not learned to think yet. Also, they just taught “remembering” (read your lesson, be tested on how well you remembered it). If you remembered it really well, you were considered smart. No thought about if it was true. No thinking allowed or encouraged, so now we have a nation full of “smart” people who can remember really well. Perhaps you are one of them and like Mark Twain dis- covered many, many years ago, “It is much easier to fool a person than it is for a person who has been fooled to admit it.” Can you admit it yet? One of the first things they did was to remove the Bible. Now they forced you to go to school to program you as they like and teach you only “remembering.” Oh oh oh what they got away with. We have been dumbed down so badly, that we are supposed to believe what they tell us through the media, schools, government propaganda that we are the greatest nation there ever was, not counting being thirty six trillion dollars in debt, the most people in jails and certainly the most evil society there ever has been with very little common sense. Teaching the children forced to go to school that they can be any gender they want. It is “good” to be “queer.” Killing unborn babies is not murder, just choice. The choice was before committing adultery. Think, think. Let’s put away “remembering” start thinking. A lot of peo- ple have been dumbed down so badly that they don’t even know there is a loving God Who created them, us, gave us the Bible so we can know Him and know what He expects from us. The Ten Commandments. Just ten. So simple but in our sinful nature, we do not follow but we are sup- posed to try. When we fail, being a just God, He loved us
