ARRIVING IN ZAMBIA
Once you land in Zambia, you will go through immigration and obtain your Visa. For those of you participating in the standard week of Camp Life, your visa will be free of charge as Zambia is no longer requiring any form of payment to obtain a single-entry visitors visa. For those of you also participating in a side trip, please make sure to check with your side trip agency to confirm the cost of your Visa.
TIPS
• Use the free luggage carts to collect your luggage.
• If asked by the immigration officer where you are staying during your time in Zambia, you can provide “Legacy Lodge” or “Meanwood Ibex Hill”.
• Exit the arrivals hall on the far right side that says “Nothing to Declare”.
• Make sure you have your luggage tags readily available, as the airport agents will compare your luggage receipts to the tags on your bags.
MISSING LUGGAGE
If you are missing a piece of luggage, you will need to go to the Lost Luggage counter to file a claim. It is necessary for you to give an accurate description of the luggage (style, color, brand).
TRAVELING HOME
Saying “goodbye” to the children and country you love can be emotional. We hope that you are forever impacted by your experience at Camp Life!
We encourage you to use your long trip home to reflect on your time in Zambia. Use your time on the plane to remind yourself of the Camp Life theme “Be Strong & Courageous” and document experiences and information about each individual child. As a reminder, there are likely going to be children in your group that are not currently sponsored and/or are not receiving an education. It is our hope that through Camp Life, the un-sponsored children will have an opportunity at sponsorship and an education, perhaps for the first time in their young lives.
We ask that, as their Camp Life ambassador, you would consider how the Lord would have you play a part in securing a sponsorship for them.
Family Legacy will be providing you with resources to help you secure sponsorships throughout this process, during your trip, as well as when you return home.
