LOCAL RULES TO BE IN EFFECT FOR ALL CLUB PLAY Play at Wilmington Country Club is governed by the 2025 USGA Rules of Golf, and where applicable, by the following Local Rules: 1. Out of Bounds is defined by the line between the course-side points at ground level of white stakes. In the absence of white stakes, the course-side edge of perimeter roads defines the boundary of the course. On Holes 5, 9 and 11 North, the course-side edge of perimeter fencing defines the boundary of the course. 2. If a ball is in the penalty area on Holes 4 or 17 South, including when it is known or virtually certain that a ball that has not been found came to rest in the penalty area, the player has these relief options, each for one penalty stroke: take relief under Rule 17.1; or as an extra option, drop the original ball or another ball in the dropping zone, defined by the closely mown area in front of the penalty area. The dropping zone is a relief area under Rule 14.3. 3. The area including all parking lot areas, maintenance building areas, the Clubhouse and associated buildings, and tennis areas is a Red Penalty Area No Play Zone. The flower bed edge behind Hole 18 South defines the edge of the Red Penalty Area No Play Zone. When a ball is in the No Play Zone within the penalty area, the ball must not be played as it lies and relief must be taken from interference by the No Play Zone under Rule 17.1e. The player must take penalty relief under Rule 17.1d or 17.2. 4. Flower beds behind Hole 9 South adjacent to the cart barn, flower bed near cart staging, and the cart path are treated as a single abnormal course condition when taking relief under Rule 16.1. All other flower beds on the course are part of the general area, and no free relief is available. 5. All golf practice ranges are deemed to be part of the general area. 6. The stone wall between Holes 6 and 7 South is an integral object, and no free relief is available. 7. Ground under repair is defined by any area encircled by a white line. 8. All roads and paths on the course, even if not artificially surfaced, are treated as immovable obstructions from which free relief is allowed under Rule 16.1. 9. A suspension of play for a dangerous situation will be signaled by one prolonged siren blast. Resumption of play will be signaled by three short siren blasts. See Rule 5.7b.
