ProofScope, CLOUDFLOW’s tool for artwork viewing and approval. The integration is expected to be released in the third quarter of 2024 and will include Hamillroad’s next gen- eration of Bellissima DMS, which will reportedly deliver enhanced screening capabilities, including the highest SID levels on traditional LAMs flexo plates for CMYK, spot color, and whites. Enhanced image reproduction quali- ty, equivalent to 300-450 lpi, and excellent fade-to-zero smoothness with tone values below traditional 3-10 per- cent are also provided with the integration, said the com- pany. Finally, there is compatibility with UV, solvent, and water-based printing on various manufacturers’ LAMs plates, including eco-friendly water-wash plates. Packaging Printing Market Size To Hit $557.90 B By 2032 The global packaging printing market size was valued at $369.02 billion in 2023 and is predicted to hit around $530.83 billion by 2031, according to a study published by Precedence Research. Flexographic printing is currently used in around 40 percent of all printed packaging used worldwide, and its use is growing at a pace of about 5 percent per year.
At the recently ended drupa trade show, TRESU A/S and SOMA signed a strategic partnership to supply TRESU with fully automatic plate mounting. “With the fully automatic plate mounter SOMA S-Mount technology we close the gap from pre-press plate mount- ing to in-press perfect printing plate and anilox impres- sion,” said Steffan Warming-Rasmussen, VP Products TRESU. “The SOMA S-Mount & IRIS technology will also be fully retrofittable for our installed base of TRESU press- es as well”
Pavla Kusa, Commercial Director of SOMA, added, “S-Mount is a very efficient solution for printers. It has proven to be successful. “For SOMA, cooperation with TRESU brings another selling channel to increase sales of S-Mount,” said Pavla Kusa, Commercial Director of SOMA, “particularly in the folding carton and liquid packaging segments, where pre- cision and efficiency are essential.” FTA Introduces Hall Of Fame Legacy Initiative The highest honor that can bestowed by the FTA to a flex- ographer is being inducted in to the FLEXO Hall of Fame. Each year a deserving candidate is elected by a vote con- ducted by living Hall of Fame Members; there are however many other flexographers who very well may be deserving of this honor, according to the FTA. As such, the FTA has set up a program within the Hall of Fame to not only remember flexographic pioneers but also have the most deserving of them be honored by in- duction into the Hall of Fame and bestow upon them this recognition. The FTA invites all flexo industry members to sub- mit nominations for anyone they may feel deserving of this honor. The official nomination form can be found at: https://fs6.formsite.com/ftamarketing/legacy-hall-of- fame/index . Nominations can also be emailed to Joe Tuccitto at jtuccitto@flexography.org or Dave Horsman at papa- horse@gmail.com .
