Sarah Welsh Human Resources Manager L.A. Fuess Partners Las Colinas, TX

Sarah Welsh is the Human Resources Manager for L.A. Fuess Partners, a structural engineer- ing firm based in Dallas, TX, with additional offices located in Boston, MA and Austin, TX. She joined the organization as their lead people strategist in May 2022, and in just the last seven months she has implemented a formalized mentorship program and spearheaded success- ful employee engagement efforts. Her current projects include implementing L.A. Fuess’ first HRIS platform and formalizing the talent acquisition and management processes. Her career began in the A/E/C community shortly after graduating from Texas Wesleyan University. Over the last 17 years, she has supported the HR function for both construction and engineering firms, with a couple of detours into the healthcare and transportation indus - tries. In 2017, she received her SHRM-CP certification, and in 2022, she received her master’s degree in HR Management from Tarleton State University. She is currently in the process of studying to sit for the SPHR exam later this year. Sarah is especially proud of her membership in the National Association of Women in Con- struction (NAWIC), having served as a chapter secretary, as well as chairing multiple commit- tees. Her participation in NAWIC represents her passion for promoting STEM and construc- tion careers for women, from early childhood education through college. She is committed to seeking ways to promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in every single strate- gic people initiative in her organization and in the world at large. This drive is what led her to apply to the 2023 ElevateHER cohort and powers her desire to make it a success.
