Amanda always knew she wanted to be a part of the AEC industry. Growing up she spent her free time figuring out how things worked and drawing floor plans for her fu - ture dream house. Now as a civil engineer, she prides herself in being able to simplify complex concepts, walking clients through the design process, and helping them understand how design alternatives will affect them in long term so that they are able to make informed decisions. With a family routed in strong community values, Amanda is an active volunteer in the community and has spearheaded several initiatives throughout the years that intro- duce elementary through high school students to the world of engineering and archi- tecture. She is a firm believer that supplying opportunities to explore various career paths is the best way for young students to have the building blocks and encourage- ment to later enter a particular field.
