At onepoint, we looked aroundwith the night sky now illuminated to seeworkers in the fields picking onions – and they were enjoying the fireworks too! I recall thinking they work in the dark to avoid the heat and how tough that must be on their backs. I also recall letting my boys know they should count their blessings. It ismemories like these that really puts life in perspective. These activities were our “normal” at the time, and while we will all be experiencing a different normal this year, I hope there will still be some resemblance of those old memories and the light moving forward.

memory. Maybe all this time at home gives us a chance to reflect on the purity of their smiling faces as they paraded down the neighborhood street. The 4th of July parade. One year we collected all our fireworks and in the evening after the BBQ set out for the valley. You all know that it’s difficult to find an area where it’s legal and safe to set off fireworks, even in the county, so this one did take some planning. My friend and patient allowed us access that 4th of July to come to his farm in order that the “kids,” present company included, could enjoy the fireworks festivities. We pulled up a road between two fields.
