Bill Summaries: Budget

Program for All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE): The budget provides an increase of $1,315,484 in funding to serve 100 additional individuals in Miami-Dade County; an increase of $1,129,663 in funding to serve 100 additional individuals in Lee County; an increase of $1,074,660 in funding to serve 100 additional individuals in Collier County; an increase of $1,173,367 in funding to serve 100 additional individuals in Baker, Clay, Duval, St. Johns, and Nassau Counties; and an increase of $880,025 in funding to serve 75 additional individuals in Martin County. PACE provides home-and-community–based–services for individuals who would otherwise qualify for Medicaid nursing home placement. Affordable Housing: The Legislature swept $198,370,000 million from a trust fund established exclusively for use with affordable housing programs. Funds are down $13,370,000 from last year, for a total of $123,630,000. The State Apartment Incentive Loan (SAIL) program will receive $79,180,000 to fund construction or rehabilitation of rental units for older adults, the homeless, and persons with developmental disabilities. The State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) program will receive $44,450,000 for emergency repair, new construction or rehabilitation of homes.
