B. Required Minimum Number of Permanent Off-street Queuing Spaces for Businesses with Drive-through Facilities. 1. Car washes, self-service: 3 queueing spaces per bay. 2. Car washes, staffed: 1 parking space per employee, plus: a. 5 queuing spaces per car washing bay or conveyor. b. 1 drying space per car washing bay or conveyor. 3. Drive-through facilities at banks: a. 1 drive-through lane: 6 queuing spaces. b. Multiple drive-through lanes: 4 queuing spaces per window or kiosk. c. ATMs: 3 queuing spaces per window or kiosk. 4. Drive-through facilities at buildings with less than 300 square feet of floor space and no separate menu board (coffee stands, photo processing): 3 queuing spaces per service window. 5. Drive-through facilities at convenience stores: 4 queuing spaces per drive-through lane. 6. Drive-through facilities at dry cleaners: 2 queuing spaces, including the space at the service window. 7. Drive-through facilities at pharmacies: 4 queuing spaces per service window. 8. Drive-through facilities at restaurants: a. 3 queuing spaces per menu board. b. 3 queuing spaces between the menu board and the nearest service window.
C. Queuing Lanes at Schools. Adequate on-site queuing lanes are important to the safety and operations of traffic within and around school sites. 1. Ideally, queuing lanes for buses and parents should be located in separate areas. 2. Ideally, queuing lanes should be designed as loop drives . 3. Where the site permits, queuing lanes for drop-off/pick-up zones should be at side entrances , to reduce the amount of pavement separating schools from the street. a. Drop-off/pick-up zones should be located so that students do not have to cross a vehicular path in order to enter the building. 4. Bus Queuing. Provide queuing lanes for buses adequate to allow all buses at the school at a given time to be parked off of public streets. 5. Parent Queuing. Required minimum queuing lane lengths for parent drop-off/pick-up zones at schools in Andover: a. Elementary, middle schools: 1 queuing space per 10 full-time-equivalent students. b. Secondary schools: 1 queuing space per 100 full-time-equivalent students. c. Child care centers and preschools: 1 queuing space per 10 full-time-equivalent students.
