D. Home Occupations Permitted. Customary home occupations include, but are not limited to, the following examples: 1. Adult care home, group boarding home, day care home, and group day care home. a. For definitions see ADULT CARE HOME, GROUP BOARDING HOME, and Section 4-100 for definitions of day care home and group day care home. b. A state license is required . 2. Artist, author, composer, photographer or sculptor. 3. Barber or beautician, provided that only one operator is permitted. 4. Bed & breakfast homes, as a special use . 5. Home crafts, such as seamstress, tailor, cabinet maker, model maker, jewelry maker, weaver and the like. 6. Office facilities for: a. Building contractors, insurance agents, real estate agents, or similar professions. b. Clergy. c. Professionals such as accountants, architects, attorneys, engineers, landscape architects, medical professionals, or similar professions. d. Sales or manufacturer representatives, including internet sales. e. Telework, where people work from home using mobile communications technology. 7. Production of artisan food or drink (a high-quality, distinctive product produced in small quantities, usually by hand and using traditional methods). 8. Teacher, including music or dance instruction for no more than 2 pupils at any one time, except for occasional groups.
4. No more than one person must be employed in a home occupation, except for members of the immediate family who occupy the dwelling. a. In two-family dwellings, multiple-family dwellings, and in manufactured/mobile home parks, no employee is permitted who is not a member of the immediate family and occupying the dwelling. 5. Goods, materials or equipment used in the home occupation may be stored in fully enclosed areas in the principal structure or accessory structures, but must not be stored outdoors. 6. Goods must not be displayed so they are visible from outside the building. 7. Do not store or use articles on the premises which may constitute a hazard to the safety of adjacent property owners or tenants. 8. Use no equipment or process which creates undue noise, smoke or particulate matter emission, vibrations or odors that are detectable to normal senses off the zoning lot. 9. Use no equipment or process which creates electrical interference off the premises, including visual effects or audible interference in any radio or television receiver or transmitter, or voltage fluctuations.
