D. Street Component Widths. 1. Traffic lanes may be from 10 to 14 feet wide, depending on function and design speed. 2. On-street parking lanes must be at least 8 feet wide. a. Up to 2 feet of gutter or shoulder may be included as part of the parking lane. 3. All types of curb-and-gutter must be at least 30 inches wide. 4. Rural roadway shoulders must be at least 3 feet wide. E. Street Curves. 1. Design street curves with the following minimum horizontal sight distances :
F. Roadway Grades. Longitudinal roadway grades must be at least 0.4 percent. 1. Where necessary, steeper grades may be required to provide adequate drainage. However, grades must not exceed the maximum percent grades noted in the following table:

2. Reasonable allowance will be made for vertical curves. 3. Exceptions must be approved by the applicable engineer. G. Minimum Intersection Curb Radius . Roadway pavement at intersections must have the following minimum curb radii:

a. Measure the sight distance in the right-hand lane of the roadway, from a height of 4 feet 6 inches above the proposed pavement surface. 2. On arterial and collector streets, wherever possible, the inside tangent between reverse curves must be at least 100 feet long.
