BIKEWAY NETWORK: All thoroughfares that provide for bicycle travel, including bike routes and lanes within roadways, and bicycle/pedestrian paths which may be in separate corridors. 1. BICYCLE/PEDESTRIAN PATH: A paved or compacted gravel path reserved for bicycles and pedestrians, which is not part of a roadway, and where motor vehicle traffic is prohibited except for emergency and maintenance vehicles. See SIDEWALK. 2. BICYCLE LANE: A one-way lane within a roadway which is reserved for bicycles, typically designated with a lane stripe, pavement markings and signs. 3. BICYCLE ROUTE: A roadway specifically designated for both motor vehicle and bicycle use, identified with "Share the Road" or similar bikeway signs, and without any special pavement markings.

BOARDING HOUSE: A building other than a hotel, with multiple rooms for rent. A Boarding House provides lodging or lodging with meals, for compensation and by pre-arrangement, for definite periods typically longer than 30 days , for 4 or more boarders or roomers exclusive of the occupant's family. Typically, common kitchen and dining facilities are shared by the occupants; in any event, individual cooking facilities are not provided. BUILDING: Any structure with a roof supported by columns or walls, which is permanently affixed to the land and constructed for the shelter or enclosure of people, animals, or property of any kind. (See STRUCTURE.) 1. Interconnected structures are considered to be one building. BULK REGULATIONS: Regulations controlling the size of structures, and the relationships of structures and uses to each other and to open areas and lot lines. Among other dimensions, bulk regulations control maximum height, maximum lot coverage, and minimum size of yards and setbacks. See STRUCTURE. BUS: A motor vehicle designed to carry more than 10 passengers, and used to transport people, or a motor vehicle other than a taxicab, designed and used for transporting people for compensation. BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL OFFICE: The office of an architect, attorney, dentist, doctor, engineer, landscape architect, real estate or insurance agent or other similar professional person, and any office used primarily for accounting, correspondence, research, editing or administration.
