OUTDOOR STORAGE: The storage of goods or materials outside of any building or structure, including merchandise located outdoors for display and sale. 1. This definition does not include storage of a temporary or emergency nature.

2. Except as specifically permitted by these Zoning Regulations, outdoor storage is not considered a permitted accessory use.

OUTDOOR STRUCTURES: Outdoor buildings or constructed elements, intended to provide a decorative accent or occasional shade or shelter for people. 1. ARBOR: A small simple freestanding vertical framework, often incorporating trellis or latticework which may support climbing vines. Sometimes includes a sheltered bench beneath. 2. GAZEBO: A freestanding structure, typically round, hexagonal or octagonal in plan, with a solid centrally peaked roof, open or partially open sides, and a floor. 3. PATIO COVER: An open or solid overhead structure, which is attached to a building and provides shade or rain protection for an adjacent patio or deck. Typically constructed of metal, wood, fabric, or some combination. Some patio covers are retractable. 4. PERGOLA: A large freestanding structure with an open roof supported by columns or posts, used to to provide filtered shade over a walkway or outdoor living space. 5. TRELLIS: Lightweight lattice work, usually made from wood or metal, used as screening, to support climbing plants, or to add height to fences. A trellis may be a small freestanding structure, attached to a wall, or used as a gateway feature.

OVERLAY ZONING DISTRICT: A zoning district superimposed over part or all of one or more underlying zoning districts. An overlay zone modifies or supplements permitted uses in the underlying zones, in order to achieve specific overarching goals for a defined geographic area which may extend over multiple underlying zones. OWNER: Any individual, firm, association, partnership, corporation, trust, or other legal entity with sufficient proprietary interest in land which is proposed to be subdivided, to commence and maintain proceedings to subdivide that land under these Regulations. PARCEL: A lot or contiguous group of lots in single ownership or under single control, legally described and designated for development as a unit. (See LOT and TRACT.)
