PASSENGER VEHICLE: A motor vehicle designed primarily to carry 10 or fewer passengers, and which is not used as a truck. PATH: See BICYCLE/PEDESTRIAN PATH. PATIO COVER: See OUTDOOR STRUCTURES/PATIO COVER. PEDESTRIAN WAY: A sidewalk or right-of-way providing public pedestrian access across or within a block. PERGOLA: See OUTDOOR STRUCTURES/PERGOLA. PERMANENT PARKING SPACE: See PARKING SPACE/PERMANENT PARKING SPACE. PERMITTED USE: See USE, PERMITTED. PETITION: A written application from a person or persons to a governing body or public official, that requests action on a particular matter. Includes IMPROVEMENT PETITIONS, PROTEST PETITIONS, and VACATION PETITIONS. PLANT MATERIALS: Trees, shrubs, vines, groundcovers, grass, perennials, annuals, and bulbs.
PLAT: A Subdivider's map or drawing presenting the plan of a subdivision, which is submitted for approval. The final form of a plat is recorded. 1. SKETCH PLAN: A map or plan of a proposed subdivision, made before a preliminary plat is prepared. A Subdivider can save time and expense by using a sketch plan to discuss potential impacts of these Regulations on the proposed plans, before developing a preliminary plat. 2. PRELIMINARY PLAT: A provisional map or plan of a proposed subdivision of land, showing the character and general details of the proposed development. 3. FINAL PLAT: Formal written and drawn documents representing a subdivision, prepared by a registered professional surveyor licensed by the State of Kansas according to these Regulations, which will be placed on record with the County Register of Deeds. 4. REPLAT: A map or drawing presenting the plan for a revision to a previously recorded subdivision or part of a subdivision, which is submitted for approval, approved, and recorded. Also known as "resubdivision".
