TRELLIS: See OUTDOOR STRUCTURES/TRELLIS. TRUCK: A motor vehicle which is used for the transportation or delivery of freight and merchandise, or more than 10 passengers. TRUCK-CAMPER: A structure designed, used or maintained primarily to be loaded on or attached to a motor vehicle, in order to provide a mobile dwelling, sleeping place, office or commercial space.

TURN-AROUND: An expanded area at the closed end of a dead-end street, where vehicles can reverse their direction. Turn-arounds include cul-de-sacs, hammerheads, and temporary turn-arounds.

  USE: Any purpose for which a structure or a tract of land may be designed, arranged, intended, maintained or occupied. Also, any activity, occupation, business or operation carried on, or intended to be carried on, in a structure or on a tract of land. USE, ACCESSORY: An accessory use is a use or structure which is subordinate in purpose or size to a principal use or structure on the same zoning lot, and serves the occupants or function of the principal use or structure. (See Zoning Regulations, Section 7-100 for Accessory Uses and Structures.) USE, CONDITIONAL: A use of a structure or land which is not permitted outright, but which is listed in these Zoning Regulations as a conditional use within a zoning district. When specifically authorized by the Board of Zoning Appeals, a conditional use may be granted as an exception , and the Board may attach conditions to its approval to ensure that it is compatible with its particular location within a zoning district. (See Zoning Regulations, Section 11-107 for Conditional Uses.) USE, NONCONFORMING: An existing use of a structure or land which does not comply with use regulations applicable to new uses in its zoning district. (See Zoning Regulations, Section 9-100 for Nonconformities.)

 Photo: Truck Camper (example) TRUCK TRACTOR: A motor vehicle designed and used primarily for drawing another vehicle (usually a semitrailer), and not constructed to carry a load other than part of the weight of the vehicle or load it is drawing. (See SEMITRAILER.)

 Photo: Truck Tractor (example) TURF: A dense growth of turfgrass, including a surface layer of earth containing its matted roots. (See LAWN.) 1. TURFGRASS: Any of a variety of species of short grasses grown to form turf, such as fescue or Bermudagrass . 2. ARTIFICIAL TURF: A permeable mat of synthetic fibers made to look like natural turfgrass, which can be installed outdoors as a water- and energy-efficient substitute for lawn.
