C. Child Care Facilities Regulated by DCF.> 1. Children must be placed in DCF-regulated facilities by parents or a guardian, by a public agency such as the Prevention and Protection Services (PPS) division, or by a person licensed to perform placement services. 2. DCF-regulated facilities provide care for children for 24 hours per day. 3. The following facilities are licensed and regulated by DCF, and all requirements, as may be amended from time to time, must be met. a. Family Foster Home: A home where family members care for unrelated children. (1) Number of children permitted: 1 to 4. (2) Age of children permitted: Infancy up to 16 years old. b. Group Boarding Home: A non-secure facility providing residential care for children unrelated to the caregivers. Includes emergency shelters and maternity homes. (1) Number of children permitted: 5 to 10. (2) Age of children permitted: Infancy up to 16 years old. c. Residential Center: A non-secure facility providing residential care for children unrelated to the caregivers. Includes emergency shelters and maternity homes. (1) Maximum number of children permitted: More than 10. (2) Age of children permitted: Infancy up to 16 years old.
