Site Plan Review Checklist — PARKING LOTS (3.4.5)

A. Parking Lot Design Standards 1. At discretion of SPRC, curbs may be required in all new parking lots 2. SPRC-approved barricade where aisle will connect to future construction 3. 2' wide concrete surface in the door swing area of landscaped areas beside parking space B. Parking Lot Pedestrian Circulation 1. Pedestrian circulation harmonizes with site's architectural concept 2. Separate pedestrian and vehicle circulation routes as much as possible 3. Plan for shorter pedestrian routes to building entries 4. Connect pedestrian routes on the site to the street sidewalk system or adjacent trails 5. Connect parking areas to building entrances with sidewalks 6. Separate pedestrian routes from driveways and parking areas with landscaping 7. Sidewalks must be 5' wide minimum; 7' wide minimum if adjacent to parking at bumper overhang areas 8. Clearly mark pedestrian crossings of driveways and aisles (stripes, colored or textured pavement) C. Parking Lot Interior Islands 1. > 50 space s, divide lot into sections of 50-100 spaces each, with sidewalk islands that provide pedestrian routes to building entrance a. Provide a sidewalk island 9' minimum wide, between at least every 3rd double-row of parking b. Every 3rd sidewalk island must be a landscaped sidewalk island with trees , 20' minimum in width 2. Interior landscape islands to be full width, 10' wide minimum a. A row with more than 15 spaces must have at least 1 interior island b. > 50 space s, minimum 1 island per 25 parking spaces 3.
