Holiday Helmets for Kids Giveaway!

Who can forget the feeling of freedom when you finally mastered the two-wheeled beast and zoomed off to meet your friends for the shenanigans you decided to get into that day? A bicycle is as good as gold to a kid; it transforms them from just a passenger to a driver with ultimate control. Finding the right bike and customizing it with cards in the spokes, flowers on the basket, or a special bell allows you to make the bike your own, but there’s a common — and necessary — piece of biking equipment most kids don’t think of: their helmets. A proper helmet can keep a rider’s noggin safe, and it could save their life, too. According to a 2016 study published in the Journal of Safety Research, the most common cause of bicyclist deaths is a head injury. Wearing a helmet can reduce the chance of death from a head injury by 88 percent. Researchers found that only 29 percent of adults and 42 percent of children always wear their helmets when biking. That same study found that children were 90 percent more likely to wear their helmets when their parents did, and children were also more likely to wear their helmets when they lived in states that required children to do so. At Simon Law Firm, we are dedicated to keeping you and your family safe, and we know how important getting into the habit With those numbers, why risk it? According to the study, many parents still do.
