You will act in the capacity of Senior Project Manager, providing high quality client focussed project management skills to a range of complex capital projects that form part of the Universities Capital Investment Programme (valued at circa £500m over 7-10 years); ensuring schemes are briefed, designed, developed, delivered and governed within strict budgetary and programme constraints, fully satisfying university requirements. The post holder will need to be able to effectively engage with key stakeholders (internal and external) throughout the life of the projects, establishing project brief, assisting in the development of business case and investment appraisals, have the ability to identify suitable procurement strategies, lead and motivate internal and external (consultant and works contractor) project teams and be able to effectively communicate and engage within senior forums. As a senior member of the Projects and Planning Team, not only will you lead and deliver a number of individual projects, the post holder will also be required to support the Head of Programme (Major Projects) to plan and deliver a long-term capital development strategy. The post holder will be required to play a central role establishing, developing and maintaining best practice processes and protocol’s and university policy within the Projects and Planning department, providing a consistent and high quality of service. This will also include managing and mentoring Internal Project Managers.
