Hace más de 30 años que el argentino Pablo Katz (56) llegó a París a complementar sus estudios de arquitectura, sin imaginar que allí asentaría una sólida carrera profesional que incluye un estudio con nombre propio, Pablo Katz Architecture; más de 2 mil viviendas, programas de urbanismo y edificaciones públicas tales como el Centro de Congresos de Périgueux y la reestructuración de un edificio medieval para la Ópera del Rin en Estrasburgo; actividades académicas en instituciones como la École Speciale d’Architecture (ESA) de París y la Kunstakademie de Stuttgart, y también una comprometida actividad gremial concentrada en la Sociedad Francesa de Arquitectos, entidad de la que hoy es vicepresidente y que antes presidió. En ese rol le tocó recibir al grupo de arquitectos de la AOA que viajó en Misión Tecnológica a Europa el año 2012. Muchos de los temas que conversaron entonces se profundizaron esta vez, en que Katz fue invitado a Chile para participar en el Seminario de Actualidad Inmobiliaria y dar una conferencia en la FAU de la Universidad de Chile. El arquitecto, quien también tiene experiencia editorial –participó en la revista Architectures à vivre y dirigió la publicación crítica Le Visiteur - se reunió en la AOA con Carlos Alberto Urzúa, Enrique Browne, Raimundo Lira e Yves Besançon, integrantes del comité editorial de la revista AOA. The Argentine Pablo Katz (56) arrived in Paris over 30 years ago to deepen his studies in architecture, never imagining that he would establish a solid career there that includes a study with his own name, Pablo Katz Architecture: more than 2000 homes, urban planning programs and public buildings such as the Congress Center at Périgueux and the restructuring of a medieval building for the Opéra National du Rhin in Strasbourg; academic activities in institutions such as the Paris École Speciale d’Architecture (ESA) and the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design; and also a dedicated union activity focused in the French Society of Architects, entity of which he is now vice president and previously chaired. In that position he met a group of AOA architects that traveled on a Technological Mission to Europe in 2012. Many of the issues discussed in that opportunity were deepened this time, taking advantage of Katz’s presence in Chile, invited to participate in a real estate seminar and a lecture at the School of Architecture and Urban Planning, University of Chile. The architect, who also has editorial experience – he contributed to the Architectures à vivre magazine and directed the critical publication Le Visiteur - met at the AOA with Carlos Alberto Urzúa, Enrique Browne, Raimundo Lira and Yves Besançon, members of the AOA magazine board of editors.
