FULFILLING THE STRATEGIC VISION CAPITAL CAMPAIGN

Thanks to the leadership of our Campaign Committee and generous commitments from the following donors, we successfully raised $5 million for the endowment for teacher salary support, $1.5 million to establish the Community Scholars Program, and $13.5 million to renovate existing classrooms and expand the campus through the Terrace Addition Project beginning this summer. In early 2021, Cathedral School for Boys reached a historic milestone by raising a record $20 million through this campaign to support staff salaries and benefits, diversify our student body, and enhance and expand our campus. Four years ago, Cathedral School for Boys embarked on its most ambitious fundraising effort ever. With an initial goal of $20 million, the Fulfilling the Strategic Vision campaign would touch on nearly every aspect of the school: transforming the campus through an expansion onto the Veazie Court terrace and renovations to nearly every existing classroom; recruiting and retaining experienced and inspirational teachers; and increasing student diversity through the growth of our financial aid budget and the establishment of the Community Scholars Program. Despite the headwinds and uncertainties of the past year, we have managed to raise not only this record amount, but have already implemented several goals of our campaign. This summer, we will begin the final stage—the Terrace addition— which will greet community members and visitors alike upon its completion in January 2022. While we have so much to be proud of, there is still more we can accomplish together. The Fulfilling the Strategic Vision Campaign is now in its community phase, and we hope to engage our broader community’s participation in support of this effort. If your family would like to join the campaign, at whatever level is meaningful for you, please reach out to Yvonne Blaxter, Director of Development, at blaxter@cathedralschool.net, for more information about how you can be a part of this transformative project, which will shape the experience of Cathedral School students for years to come. Our community owes a deep debt of gratitude to those Trustees and volunteers who were instrumental in the success of this campaign and project, including Matt Peek ‘85, Thayer Hopkins, and Kath Tsakalakis.
