“One drink is too much, one drink is never enough.” These words aren’t just a warning they’re a window into the reality of addiction. But in Telford and Wrekin, they mark the beginning of a story of strength, support and second chances.
Recovery Month, in September, celebrated the courage of those overcoming addiction. Events such as the 12th Recovery Conference, the first Young People’s Recovery Conference and a memorial football match brought together people in recovery, their families and support organisations. Local support groups including TACT, A Better Tomorrow, STARS and Recharge Telford offer vital support and connection. The launch of the Telford & Wrekin Recovery Charter strengthens this commitment, creating real opportunities for those in early recovery.
