Prices you’ll love when you need them Buses

Plan smarter with Citymapper

Walk down the road in Hadley and you might overhear someone say, “Love it” about the buses. Hop on near Shawbirch and you’re likely to be greeted by “friendly drivers” with a “warm smile”. This is the feedback from Telford & Wrekin Council bus service users gathered from the Council’s annual survey. The team at Travel Telford has already helped passengers with more than 700,000 journeys and residents have said the services are “fantastic”, “reliable” and “always show up without fail”. Spot the new look As part of contract renewal, the Council- operated buses have had a refreshed design. New vehicles hit the roads in the summer, making it easier for passengers to identify which buses are part of the Travel Telford network. Big news for small villages Rural routes 102 and 103 now run every two hours, with Saturday services introduced for the first time. These routes connect villages like Newport, Church Aston and Muxton to key destinations like the Princess Royal Hospital and Wellington. “I rely on the 102 to get to the hospital and back,” said one Donnington resident. “It’s not just a bus, it’s how I stay independent.”

On-demand travel that works for you The new Travel Telford On-Demand service is changing how people travel in Ironbridge and Madeley. Using a simple app, passengers book shared rides with pick-ups to suit their location, these are often closer than traditional stops – similar to booking a taxi. New this year Horsehay and Lightmoor residents can also book journeys to Madeley, the Town Centre, Ironbridge and the Princess Royal Hospital.

The Citymapper app is now fully tailored to Telford and Wrekin. With real-time updates and step-by-step directions, it’s the easiest way to plan your journey across the Borough.
