n This year has been another brilliant one for music-making at Dulwich College Junior School, filled with energy, creativity, and enthusiasm. As well as weekly music lessons and singing sessions, pupils have embraced a wide range of performance opportunities, showcasing their talents in events such as our ever-popular Open Concerts, informal Pop in and Play sessions, and the lively Breakfast Beats mornings. We’ve enjoyed wonderful performances from a variety of chamber ensembles, highlighting the breadth and depth of musical talent across the school. A particular highlight was the creation of the Junior School Orchestra, formed by combining Purcell Strings and Junior Wind Band, which delivered a fantastic performance at the College Great Hall Concert in May. The Madrigal Choir also had a standout year, performing at the prestigious Cadogan Hall and taking part in a powerful rendition of Stravinsky’s Symphony of Psalms at Southwark Cathedral. In addition, over 160 pupils have taken individual music lessons this year, with many proudly achieving success in their graded exams. These occasions have not only celebrated the musical progress of our pupils but have also fostered a strong sense of community and joy through shared performance. MU S I C
