eBook Explanation for use in building your plan This eBook contains the details necessary to permit a plan and localize the plan to the jurisdiction where you intend to build the Affordable Dwelling Unit. Refer to the instructions within the eBook or download the eBook to a PDF. By downloading you will be able to print any section you require. For example, you may want to print the Plan section on 18 x 24 paper. Take the Plan section PDF to a reproduction shop and order 18 x 24 pages for use while erecting the skeleton. Or you may want to print the Materials Shopping List to select the parts and materials to finish your home. For example; a washer and dryer or siding and roofing material. Just take the generic shopping list to any building supply store and personalize it to your taste. In America, Home Depot with 2,200 outlets in north America supplies finishing materials. The Truss and Wall calculations are required by some Jurisdiction to issue a building permit. The pages in the calculations section are stamped with an IBC International Building Code (IBC) compliance stamp. Normally another step is necessary to gain a local building permit. The plan must be localized to the building codes required by the Jurisdiction where the plan will be built. The engineered skeleton detail will remain as is while local codes must be added. Consult with your Jurisdiction and add a schedule of the codes you must meet when constructing your plan. And finally, there may be two additional steps which require unique input in order to be issued a building permit. You may be able to accomplish these steps yourself but the assistance of an Architect, Engineer or Draftsman may be helpful. Consider selecting a local Architect or Engineer to assist you with the following: • Site Plan: a layout of your building site including setback plan. • Foundation Plan: This plan is unique to your lot and the soil conditions.
