 OVERVIEW AND ANALYSIS The Naperville Park District currently operates two, 18-hole municipal golf facilities: Springbrook and Naperbrook. While similar, each facility offers a different golfing experience for players of all ages and abilities. The main goal of the Golf Department is to provide challenging, yet accessible and enjoyable golfing experiences to the residents of Naperville as well as to our nonresident guests at competitive rates. Our guiding principles drive everything that we do and assist in making decisions related to golf. The four main principles - customer service, financial stability, public access and effective operations allow staff to focus its efforts and resources in the areas that are most important to golfers. 2024 GOLF SERVICES

The golf industry has experienced a surge in demand and participation over the past four years, and there have been limited indications that demand is going to soften in the near future. During the pandemic, golf was discovered by large numbers of new golfers, and many former frequent players found the time to return to the sport with changes to work schedules or early retirements. These new and former players, which represent increases in several different demographics that didn’t previously have a significant presence in golf, fueled a large increase in demand for rounds, driving range use, and lessons programs. Budgeted revenues for the two

courses have increased 41% compared to 2019 revenues in order to support needed increases in labor, supplies and services to accommodate the increased participation at our courses. Despite the significant recent changes in the golf industry, staff continues to strive for effective operations, working to remain nimble and able to adjust to weather impacts or changes in the market, while making sure to provide adequate opportunity for golfers to enjoy the facilities and continue to grow the game.
