Claims can be made by eligible employers for up to 2 weeks SSP per employee if there were off work on or before 30 September 2021. It is worth checking if you have any periods of sickness you can claim for before it is too late.

Agent update 91 16 December 2021

Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has released the latest Agent Update. Here is a brief run down of the items highlighted in the update that you may find helpful. • Guidance on reporting coronavirus support scheme grants on tax returns, such as Self-Employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS) • Late claims and reviews of SIESS applications, late claims can only be made in exceptional circumstances • A reminder of reverse charges for construction and building services • The reporting of tax avoidance schemes • Health and Social Care Levy and the importance of keeping workers and employers aware of the changes • Veterans National Insurance reminder of processes • The Pensions Regulator (TPR) webinar details (Keep an eye out, the CIPP will also be sharing this information) • Raising standards in the tax advice market consultation information

HMRC urging users to give feedback on manuals 23 December 2021

With Christmas just around the corner, it is easy to get caught up in the festivities. Luckily the CIPP is here for you with Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) produce many materia ls, such as manuals, to assist employers and agents in understanding and processing their duties. In the Agent Update, HMRC have asked that users continue to provide feedback where possible. On each manual page there are 3 options for feedback: • ‘Report a problem with this page’ to provide anonymous feedback comments • ‘Is this page useful? Yes or No’ to anonymously rate the page • ‘Contact’ link to use the gov.uk form to provide feedback and get a reply. HMRC value this feedback, allowing them to provide content that is useful and to improve upon it where it is needed. If you are using one of the pages with feedback options, please take the time to provide your comments, it can be extremely quick to do so.
