Quick Poll: How will your employer process the value of your seasonal gift? 20 December 2021
Back in December 2018 we asked the same question: How will your employer process the value of your seasonal gift? The policy team want to ask the same question again to see if this has changed over time. Are employers still not providing a seasonal gift ( 46% didn’t in 2018), or are more organisations payrolling befits now?
The policy team wants to know how your organisation handles Christmas gifts and their tax liabilities, and so there is a new Quick Poll available on our news page.
The Quick Poll should take less than a minute to respond to and gives you the opportunity to have your say. Thank you in advance for your participation. .

Quick Poll results: How is your employer processing the value of your seasonal gift? 6 January 2022 Back in 2018 we asked the question: How will your employer process the value of your seasonal gift? The policy team here at the CIPP wanted to know if anything had changed and this time we received almost twice as many responses. Here is a comparison between the 2018 and 2021 results: Method 2018 2021 PSA 18% 21% P11D 5% 2% Payrolling 8% 10% Trivial benefit rules 29% 27% Not applicable 40% 40% As you can see, the results are very consistent between the years with only a 3% swing at maximum in any given method. This means that the “not applicable” response has not come down which we would ha ve loved to see, and only a negligible rise in payrolling which we may have expected to see gain some popularity. We may revisit some other quick polls in the future to see how other areas of payroll have developed over time, hopefully with some more dramatic findings. .

Head over to out news page to complete our quick poll, it takes less than a minute of your time and will give us an insight into how our members see these proposals. .
